WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR GOTS?
GOTS emphasized that the issue with textile processing lies in the frequent discharge of inadequately treated toxic chemicals into both the air and water, creating hazardous conditions in workplaces. Workers involved in producing textile products deserve our respect and consideration.
GOTS addresses this problem by prohibiting the use of chemicals commonly employed in textile processing known to cause cancer, birth defects, and other severe illnesses.
