Why go organic?

At Cottonique, we believe that utmost quality is achieved only when handled without using artificial chemicals or genetic modification, and for good reason.

Organic cotton products are more supple and easier on your skin than regular cotton. It is stronger and more durable than most other fabrics. Though organically grown cotton may be difficult to differentiate from cotton that is conventionally grown, production of conventional cotton requires copious amounts of chemical pesticides, which has a harsh effect on the environment and on the workers’ health as well.

This means that most materials used today are not very earth-friendly. This is the core of “unsustainable” cotton farming. On the contrary, organic cotton is untreated and chemical-free. It is creamy-soft, and gets even softer with each wash. By choosing organic, you don’t only give your skin the purest cotton, but also support sustainable cotton farming.

To ensure that all the cotton used in our garments are organically grown and adhere to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), our raw materials supplier duly complies with the Control Union Inspections & Certifications India Pvt. Ltd. - Navi Mumbai, one of the control unions accredited by the Global Organic Textile Standard.

GOTS is the stringent voluntary global standard for the entire post-harvest processing, which includes spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, and manufacturing of apparel and textiles that are made with organic natural fibers. They certify that organic cotton farms employ only approved methods and use no toxic chemicals on their crops.

Cottonique means quality and responsibility. From sowing to sewing, we take pride and pleasure in cotton that’s certifiably made from eco-friendly and chemical-free materials. We do not compromise our principles. By choosing Cottonique, you are making a statement that both can and must be possible.
