At least 30 percent of the world’s population have skin diseases. The types of skin conditions vary from simple irritation to immune-based reactions that trigger rashes, discoloration and dry skin.

While majority of those who suffer from these types of skin allergy can be treated by simple changes in daily habits such as bathing regularly, using moisturizers and non-fragrant-based soaps, and using cotton fabrics to alleviate skin inflammation, many have gone the natural route.

Plant extracts have long been used to treat diseases. Today, it is still being used as alternative treatment to allergies and other conditions because it is relatively less expensive and safer, with less side effects.

Used to treat skin problems such as burns, wounds and herpes. Oral supplementation of its extracts in good doses curtails the growth of warts and acne.

Aids in skin regeneration and acts as an antioxidant, fighting free radicals that damage the skin.

Marvel of Peru 

Traditionally used in allergic skin disorders coming from rough clothing materials and chemical-based materials that trigger rashes and skin-pigmentation.

Thyme

Relieves symptoms of cellulitis, an infection of the skin caused by bacteria which can lead to pain, fever, chills and reddening of the skin.

These plant extracts are known to prevent skin irritation. While their use has gained popularity, commercial medications still work well and should be considered in this modern day and age. It is still best to consult a doctor before taking any medication for skin allergies.
